Mary, Mary Quite Contrary How Does Your Garden Grow?

Well, if it's anything like mine then it doesn't! I love flowers and gardens but, boy do I have a black thumb. Not to mention a distaste for manual labor in 100 degree weather. What's a girl to do? Luckily, we that are horticulturally-challenged may not be able to grow a garden, but we can decorate a garden!

I love anything made of iron, concrete, wicker or bamboo:

Adorable concrete fountain

Nice old English gates

A real park bench (just add pidgeons)

Neat pair of English chimney pots would make great planters or use as a console table base

Pair of frilly tall English gates

Great pair of English driveway gates painted red

Marble Top sewing machine base would make a great potting table.

How could you not love a lavender birdcage?

The sweetest little shabby chic iron bench!

Everything on this blog is for sale so if you see anything that you're interested in please visit my blogshop for more info. Also you can see any of these items and more in person at the store or online at http://www.lotsoffurniture.com/. Come on by!

Buchanan's Antique & Collectibles Market

Check out the Lots of Furniture Antiques Flea Market Page Max made of this weekend's Buchanans. It's got tons of pictures of my stuff and some of the other dealer's booths.

I snagged some great double size ceiling tin tiles there yesterday.

Isn't this a cute little florentine lamp? The marble is to die for. Also, check out the wicker settee and bench. Yes, it needs a little love but rumor has it that it can be yours for less than you'd pay for a pedicure.

Y'all need to come by because I'm stacking it deep and selling it CHEAP! Come see me at Fair Park in the Automobile building in spaces I-30 & I-31. The show hours are Saturday, 7/25 from 9am-5pm and Sunday 7/26 from 11am-5pm.

Dallas' Own Antique Twins

Move over Antique Roadshow's Leigh and Leslie Keno! Dallas has our own set of antique-loving twins. Chris and Ted Paulsen of Lots of Furniture Antiques have been bringing high quality antiques to loyal customers since 1987. Both are super knowledgable and, most importantly, super ethical. And because they sell such high quality merchandise, so incredibly cheap, rest assured that you will walk out with a smile on your face and some money left in your wallet.

Hot tip: A lot of people have trouble telling these identical twins apart. Ted never wears shorts. So at least during the warmer weather you will know that the guy sporting the bared gams is Chris!

Welcome!

Okay. It's finally happened. I've been dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century! I am going to attempt to have a "blog". Everyone please bear with me as I am a true technophobe. I guess I will be getting a crash course in tweeting and facebooking.

If anyone has any ideas for topics or has an interest in learning more about a topic relating to art or antiques - please share! For now, I'm sure some of you will be happy to know that this blog will not be about politics. My aim is to share information about different topics relating to antiques, art, the art scene, simple, gracious living and other topics that are life-enhancing. In these tough times we could all use a little beauty in our lives. So, let the adventure begin!
